There's a whole town outside of the park that is used for absolutely nothing, for instance. Part of the reason why I feel like they must have made a last minute change is because Nuka-World's map is surprisingly massive, yet so little of it is used in quests. Even if you follow the Raiders there's little story, and all of the Raiders are such assholes. If you like quest and story, forget about it. If you play Fallout to explore and poke around a post-nuclear world, then I feel the environment is incredibly fun to run around in. I'm personally convinced that they made a late-minute change in development to the Raider based one that's in the game now. That being said there's a bit of a sticky point in the middle where the game suddenly transforms into a puzzle game for about an hour. Plus there's a quest where you solve a robot murder mystery which might be one of the funniest damn quests in Fallout. The environment is something we haven't seen in Fallout, the story missions lead to some tough decisions, and there's fun gear to play around with. I honestly think that Far Harbour is one of the best Fallout DLCs ever, even better than a couple of the New Vegas DLCs. IMO Nuka doesn't add a whole hell of a lot to the game, TBH.Īutomatron is a fun, small DLC that allows you to build super sweet robots. I could go into specifics about a work around (an area you can deliberately skip in vanilla that would let you do all the content in Nuka and then come back and continue with the other factions), but don't want to be a spoiler. Also high level content, the game pretty much has two modes - become a raider warlord bad guy and conquer the Commonwealth (which directly clashes with pretty much all of the factions' goals in the vanilla game), or kill every raider in Nuka World (which basically wastes the quest content since it's written assuming you'll play the way previously mentioned). ![]() IMO it's the high water mark of the DLC, where you're making some very tough choices based on whose interests you align with. It can be played either during the main quest, or after it's completed. In my opinion, that DLC is mediocre in terms of adventuring content, but YMMV.įar Harbor ("Fah Habah") is geared for higher level characters (I think that unlocks at 20?). ![]() Same situation with the DLC that adds stuff to the Vault workshop. For example, the stuff associated with the robot workshop DLC (I forget the name of it) opens at (IIRC) level 15. Some of the content unlocks at different levels.
